In the early eighties, Ron Meerbeek starts up Youth Graphics with his friend Merryn Gates.
He produces various posters and silk screens under this aegis (all of which are reproduced here), as well as drawing his first cartoons (which appear in the relevant section of this site).
While he is still at art school, he is commissioned to design the record covers for two of Australia’s most popular bands at the time, and although they capture a certain punk zeitgeist, they are not well received.
Arguably more successful is the cover for his own band’s single, Monkeys / Nefertiti.
In November 1997, he does his first illustration for the magazine Positive Nation, and for the next seven years, he goes on to create visuals for over twenty further articles.
Presented chronologically (and for the first time in their entirety), here are they are, ready for you delectation.
